We were delighted to welcome Dr Helen Fry to Chichester as part of the Festival of Chichester. In conversation with CMHMD Trustee Dr Andrew Smith, Helen spoke to a full house at the Council House on North Street about the life of spymaster Thomas Kendrick.
The event began with an introduction by CMHMD chair Cllr Clare Apel, who spoke about how her own family escaped Vienna through the work of Thomas Kendrick. Afterwards, Clare’s brother Anthony, who made that life-saving border-crossing as a child, also reflected on the important role Kendrick played in saving so many of Austria’s Jewish population in the face of Nazi brutality.
